Is this you?

Here are some typical struggles that my students encounter. Take a look and see if any strike a chord with you.

  • Endangered passion. You love your work, or you have a pastime that means a great deal to you. You used to be able to go on doing the thing you love for as long as you wanted. But now you're at war with your body: you want to keep going, but your body is begging you to stop. You may even be wondering if you will have to stop doing the thing you love.

  • Stressed out. You've got a busy life, and you wouldn't have it any other way. But in your quiet moments, you wonder if it's really necessary to feel so stressed out so much of the time.

  • Dog tired. Normal life takes its toll on you. At the end of the day you feel exhausted and drained, and you wish you had more energy.

  • Just OK is not enough. You are good at what you do, and you know you could do even better. You long to achieve your dreams, but there's something getting in your way.

  • Got the t-shirt. You've been checked out by the doctor or other health professionals - they found nothing wrong. You've read books, you've been to experts and complementary health practitioners and sought help. And some of it probably did help, either a little or a lot. But the underlying problem never went away. You don't just want to be patched up, you want to be better.

If you've recognised yourself here, the first thing to say is: don't worry.
I can almost certainly help you.

Why 'almost certainly'? Well, I don't want to make any rash or inflated claims. That would be dishonest and potentially hurtful. What I can say is that I have worked many, many students, and nearly all of them have experienced a sustained and lasting improvement in wellbeing.

"I spend my life teaching people how to overcome fear while riding but I couldn't sing in public… until I met Jennifer. A big thank you to Jen, her gentle approach and the Alexander Technique. I recommend a visit for walking, dancing, singing, playing music or anything you wish to achieve."

The office worker: "At the end of a day on the computer my back just screams at me."
The runner: "After a run, the bit of me that feels like it's worked the most is - my neck!"
The musician: "I just wish I didn't get so nervous before I go and perform. It's so destructive and stressful."
The actor: "I feel like my voice is squeezed out like toothpaste from a tube."
